hotelsbarcelona24.com - How to Get There

By plane, car, bus, train or boat - choose your preferable means of transport and discover the most beautiful city of Catalonia!!

...by Plane

Whether you want to reach Barcelona from Canada, United Kingdom or Poland, air travel is the easiest option. The city has its own airport Prat de Llobregat, which is situated only 12 km away from the city centre and can be easily accessed by public transport. Barcelona can be also reached from two other Catalonian airports – Girona and Reus, which are both 90 min drive away but may be a cheaper option all together. For those travellers who are especially price sensitive we recommend visiting Barcelona in the off-peak seasons such as March-April and October-November.

...by Car

Barcelona has a number of good road links, which connect the city to the coast, north and south (E-15) as well as to the other cities in Spain. If you’re travelling from the United Kingdom, you can also use the Eurotunnel or ferry. Once in the city, we recommend using ring roads or bypasses to avoid high volume of traffic. Another thing to bear in mind while travelling by car is the system of motorways. They are indicated by blue signs and need to be paid for. To avoid them, you can also travel by national roads that are marked with letter N.

...by Bus

Travelling by bus is yet another option of getting to the capital of Catalonia. The main bus station in Barcelona is the centrally located Barcelona Nord, which is also well connected to the city’s underground system. International bus tickets are available from many travel agents, the travel itself, however, may last as long as 26 hours if travelling from the United Kingdom.

...by Train

For those who value rail travel, Barcelona with its many national and international train connections will be a perfect travel destination. The main station is called estació de Sants but the city offers also a number of smaller rail stations, which may be a good option for those who want to get to a particular place like e.g. Arc the Triomf. Barcelona is also well connected to other cities in Spain such as Madrid, Lleida, Camp de Tarragona and Zaragoza by the high-speed train AVE.

...by Boat

Barcelona has also one of the biggest ports on the Mediterranean coast. If you wish to travel by ferry, the city is connected to a number of national, as well as international destinations like Majorca, Minorca or Genoa, to name just a few. Another option is arriving on a board of a cruise ship or private boat. In the latter case you should contact one of Barcelona’s sporting ports and clubs.
